White rust
It manifests as a white powder on the galvanized surface. This occurs when galvanized goods are exposed to moisture or direct to water (rain, condensation during palletizing), and is a completely natural phenomenon. According to the chemical composition, white rust is primarily zinc oxide and besides aesthetic reasons, there is no impact on the quality of zinc coatings.
In order to prevent or lessen its occurrence, it is desirable that the goods in the first days after galvanizing are keep away from the direct effects of water, and prevent direct contacts of galvanized surfaces.
According to ISO 1461 white rust can not be a reason for complaint.
